About the Role
We're looking for a creative and driven PR Manager to own and build the public relations function at Blind — a professional social media network where users can engage in honest conversations about work, anonymously. This is a fully remote role, open to candidates based in the U.S. or Canada.
As our dedicated PR Manager in the U.S., you’ll shape and drive our media strategy, build strong press relationships, and amplify Blind’s voice in national conversations around work, culture, and transparency across industries. You'll play a key role in shaping how the world sees Blind — turning our unique insights, data, and community conversations into meaningful public narratives.
This is a hands-on, individual contributor role — ideal for someone who’s comfortable taking a story from idea to pitch to placement. We’re looking for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and is excited to tell stories that go beyond tech — tapping into broader topics like workplace trends, equity, and professional identity.
What You’ll Do
•
Lead and execute PR strategy in the U.S. — including proactive campaigns, timely responses, and media outreach
•
Build and manage relationships with journalists and editors across business, culture, labor, and consumer press (not just tech)
•
Identify and pitch stories that spark national conversation — from trend pieces to big issues
•
Surface story opportunities by conducting surveys, analyzing community data, and turning insights into media-worthy narratives (e.g., “Top 10 CEOs in Tech” or “Best & Worst Companies to Work For”)
•
Write press materials, blog posts, op-eds, talking points, and executive messaging
•
Set and work toward clear monthly goals (e.g., 5–10 press hits/month, 2–3 major features/year)
•
Track coverage, report on PR metrics, and continuously iterate on what’s working
•
Serve as the point of contact for media inquiries, statements, and crisis communications
What We’re Looking For
•
3+ years of PR or communications experience —ideally in-house with exposure to fast-paced or startup environments
•
Strong writing skills and sound news judgment
•
Proven track record of placing stories in top-tier media across a variety of industries (e.g., business, workplace culture, consumer, etc.)
•
Creative, curious, and self-driven — someone who seeks out stories, not just assignments
•
Excited to shape narratives around work, culture, and professional transparency
•
A self-starter who’s comfortable working independently in a remote, fast-paced, ambiguous environment
•
Comfortable working across global teams or navigating cultural nuances between U.S. and Korea
•
Experience in issues/crisis comms, social impact, or public-interest storytelling
•
Bonus: Existing relationships in sectors like labor, workplace rights, or consumer advocacy are a plus
Compensation
Blind's base compensation salary range for this role is $110,000 to $140,000 per year, depending on location and level. We’re open to both mid- and senior-level candidates and will tailor the compensation package accordingly.
We also offer a comprehensive total rewards package that includes equity, health/ dental/vision coverage, flexible PTO, paid parental leave, home office and professional development stipends, among other benefits.
Benefits
•
Health insurance with 100% premium covered for employees + 50% coverage for dependents
•
•
12 weeks of paid parental leave
•
Fully sponsored company off-sites
•
Generous Equity Package
